Kings Matric School
Boarding & Day School

The Art programme at Kings Matriculation School provides students with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills enabling them to express their ideas, imagination and creativity. The Art room is spacious and well equipped and art students are regularly enrolled in local & Government level art competitions and exhibitions. Kings School Art department teaches pupils to draw, colour and paint. A specialised sculpture department where students create models with the help of clay and mud attracts a lot of attention, and in addition, our Handicraft department allows pupils to learn how to make art from waste materials and other similar creative handiwork.

Music students at Kings enjoy our facilities in the Music Centre, which is fully equipped with many musical instruments and even separate practise rooms. We have now successfully outsourced all our music staff to an external company: Mr. J D Isaac’s ‘Cape Academy of Music’, from which we have 1 full-time and 3 part-time music teachers. There are Junior and Senior choirs which sing at all major events during the school year, including assemblies three times per week. Out musical students are often entered for Trinity external music exams and the school is a local centre for the Trinity Examining Board.
